Decorative Swimming Fish

On this swimming fish I designed the base and sea weed first to give me the room
to hold the weed up right so I could weld it to the plate.

I made the weeds from 12mm x 2mm bright flat bar and the base was just 3mm plate
cut to size out of a sheet that was laying in my material rack.

I started on the fish body using a horse shoes once I had grind it with a flappy disc
to clean it up I also used a wire wheel to get in where the grind could not reach.

The horse shoes was ready for the scales to be weld on so i used some mesh to give the look of scales then I bent some piece of 8mm round bar for the fins and weld then on..
Then I move on to the eye after welding them in place and try not to burn my fingers

I decided for a change to use one of my old spanner which had being laying in my toolbox form my mower repair day to make the fish mouth.

I think this decorative swimming fish would look great on a bedside table or even on a sitting room table
