Owl On A Branch
After spending half an hour looking at a pile of old horseshoes, I decided to make a simple owl sitting on a branch, passing the time of day.
After collecting some scrap metal bars, two large washers, and an old favorite, a horseshoe, I set out to make my owl. I cut my scrap bar to size, laid it out, and welded the parts in position.
Next was to weld the horseshoes onto the branch, and with a steady hand, it came out okay. Right, moving on to the last bit: the eyes. Just lay the owl on its side and weld the eyes in place.
Just then, I heard the door slam. I hadn't cleaned up the workshop; I better go and offer to put the shopping away. This owl is made from recycled scrap metal and is a simple but decorative piece.
